The current 8% drop in the markets were good in hindsight. I could clean up my portfolio and free some cash to buy some quality names which I wanted to for some time. Quality of the company (business and management) is very important.

Asian Paints - Came down from 1200 to less than 1100. Now inching back. Bajaj Finance - Came down from 1950+ to 1550 and now slowly crawling back. Hindustan Zinc - The only steady one in metals. Escorts - Came down from 900+ to about 800. Again crawling back. This may be a little cyclical none but playing on improving economy and margin expansion. DMart - Expensive stock but long term hold. went up to 1000 and now at 1300.

Couldn't exits any position last month as I was not accessing internet. N now in big loss because of that as I have mostly bank shares. Even @manzb would be sitting on huge gains if he hadnt sold his gems of shares.
