This market is crazy, such a fraud of 11000 crore, other than PNB many banks are exposed to same firms accused of fraud. SBI a strong representative of Indian banking system declares loss in quarterly results, a first in many years. Still market is green!!!! and steady at bad times...

Recently i bought 2 gm of 999.9 gold coin (24k) from MMTC-PAMP through amazon as an experiment. Have a few questions for experienced members here, if anyone can answer, will be highly grateful. The price at amazon for 2 gm 24k 999.9 gold is : Rs 6963. Considering 24k gold price for 1 gm in Bangalore today to be Rs 3159, the amazon-MMTC-PAMP price is ~10% higher than gold rate. Considering that, 1) Does it makes sense to buy gold by paying 10% higher than gold rate? I have to consider re-sale option also, when i decide to buy. Is there any better option to buy gold other than MMTC-PAMP or BangaloreRefinery? 2) 24k gold does not get any BIS hallmark. The amazon packer contained a receipt from MMTC-PAMP mentioning weight (2 gm) and purity (999.9) which was signed and stamped by MMTC-PAMP. Is this document enough in case I have to consider selling it at a later date? Or something more is required? 3) Unless i open the tamper-proof cover sent by the seller, I cannot see the receipt/ certificate etc. I cannot even check if a gold coin is there inside or a bronze coin. But some articles ask us not to open the packet if one has to sell the gold at a later date. Can anyone experienced please clarify this? When you buy gold, don't you open the packets and just keep the packets? How is the experience when you go to sell to MMTC-PAMP stores or other jewellery stores?
The smaller the amount of gold coins you buy, the higher the spread. So no surprises that it cost you 10% above market price for 2gm gold. 1kg bars are more efficient to buy physical. Else stick to ETFs.

Annual Statutory Audits .... ?? What happened in the 3-4 Internal Audits (RFIA: Risk Focused Internal Audit) which is done every 1.5 to 2 years ........... What happened in the Concurrent Audits which is done daily at large sized branches ......................... How could this go on undetected for 7 Years ......... i.e, during the term of two national governments & Three RBI Governors ....... If banking system runs this way ............ on "Bhagwan Bharose" ............... Should you ................ as a stock market investor .............. invest any single penny on any banking stock ................. after all ............ you as a stock market investor ...... rely in good faith ..... on some audited financial information ...... after scrutinizing it under the financial microscope ....... or getting the analysis done by a certified equity research analyst ............. who will also scrutinize the same audited financial information ...........
