Normally this thread is most active during declines as it was filled with bears.. The doomsday nay Sayers have all vanished from the forum..
This thread was very active in 2015 and 2016. I think the peak was when Sanjana, Venky, Wiseman, Rohit, Ashish, Catbert, Truthseeker were all active. It was a good timepass.

With warm regards,

Yeah.. But sometimes the discussion also turned to bizarre.. I am not sure what made people lose interest.. and the UI re-design did not help. It was down hill from then regarding volume of posts.. What are you doing these days.. from an Investment stand point... I am applying to the odd IPO I like and continuing with my SIP's. Thinking of re starting Pharma SIP that I had stopped. I had began selling some of the laggards (not all of them and the markets tanked) and sitting on some cash.. and not really planning anything.. 2018 will give many opportunities and I think BJP will lose MP, Chattisgarh and Rajasthan causing further dips towards end of 2018.. Volatility is back. Learning to deal with it is the new trick..
I have become largely passive now, although I could be more systematic. 30% of my wealth is in equity, out of this 1/2 in global ETFs and other half in Indian mutual funds. Rest 70% is in NRE FDs.
I guess people are busy making money rather than posting. But on a serious note, what can one post, if the philosphy is to do a regular SIP irrespective of market conditions and have expectations of 12-15% CAGR over long term. I used to attend lot of stock market investing workshops earlier but stopped attending them once I developed the above philosphy. Only thing I do is, do SIP of large sums w.r.t. my networth rather than do a small SIP. Currently waiting for compounding magic to take over. You have rightly said reading posts here was good time pass, that's it. As an investment guru once said if you are having fun in the market, you are probably not making any money. So boring and lack of activity is way to go.

2019 is definitely not an easy ride for bjp, specially after they have govt almost in all states. markets are sensing it n not moving up substantially. I think we are done with bull run in Indian markets. I now see more downside than up except some good shares. but my mf sip will continue n will buy specific shares whenever look lucrativ.
