[h=1]Sec 137 residents to protest against Authority apathy[/h] Meenakshi Sinha| TNN | Nov 11, 2017, 07:52 IST NOIDA: Thousands of residents from Sector 137 will take to the streets on Saturday morning to mark their protest against the long-pending civic issues and the authority's indifference to the same. The protesters from eight residential societies complained of lack of safety measures, dysfunctional drainage system, underdeveloped facilities among others. According to the residents of the sector, complaints on lack of civic amenities in the area have already been sent to all concerned authorities including MP Mahesh Sharma, MLA Tejpal Singh Nagar (Dadri - as the area falls under Dadri constituency, but is under Noida authority jurisdiction for its upkeep), district magistrate B N Singh, authority CEO and ACEO, SDM Dadri, SSP Gautam Budh Nagar and SP rural. But there has been no redressal to the problem so far. "The possession of flats in the sector began two years back from 2015. Since then these problems have persisted," said Abhisht Gupta from Paramount Floraville society. "There are about 20,000 residents residing in the area as nearly 6,000 families live here. Yet we are the most neglected lot as despite many complaints, the authority has not addressed any of the issues which have been pending since possession," said Gupta. Vijaya Srivastava, a resident of Paramount Floraville said that the drainage system in the sector is not working. "There are open nalas (big drain) with no cover on it which leads to health hazard such as unhindered mosquito breeding," said Srivastava. Rekha Pandey from Ajnara Daffodil complained of lawlessness in the area. "Vehicle thefts, kidnapping attempts, incidents of chain snatching are common. There are no CCTV cameras," she said. Residents demand gated entries to the sector with CCTV coverage and a nodal officer in charge to look into civic issues faced by them. Residents are planning a cycle ride in protest from Noida to Lucknow next. [h=1]Construction on in Noida despite NGT order to stop[/h] TNN | Nov 11, 2017, 04:17 IST NOIDA: The order of the National Green Tribunal directing authorities to stop all construction activities in NCRtill November 14 does not seem to be implemented by many. The work for the underpass at Sector 60 continued on Friday. The work on metro tracks for the upcoming Sector 71 station of the Noida-Greater Noida metro also continued. In Pathways School, Sector 100, Noida, labourers could be seen mixing the construction material inside the new building of the school. Five-six others could be seen laying the bricks on the floor. When asked about the dust being strewn in the air, a guard told TOI that flooring work was going on in the new building. The labourers, however, had no idea about the NGT order stopping all construction activities. In another building on a site of Prateek Edifice in Sector 107, constructions were on in full swing in the afternoon with many labourers present on the site. Labourers were seen painting, laying marbles and drilling. Later, a water tanker, emitting black smoke in the air could also be seen spilling water on the site later on. When asked about the same, Nishant Tyagi, head (corporate communications) for the group told TOI that only the finishing work is going on and the construction is complete. When asked about the marble laying, he said that he wasn't sure about the same and would revert on it. [h=2]Officer on special duty, Noida Authority, Rajesh Kumar Singh told TOI that there is a need to create awareness about the order through the media.[/h] "We will initiate action against these violators on Saturday," he said.
