My dad is a retired goverment employee (retired in year 2000) from the then Central government's Dept of telecommunication (DoT), which later then merged or whatever to become the current BSNL. He is currently 72 years old. I bought a medical insurance for him 3 year back. Recently, I came to know that there is something called CGHS mediclaim plan for Central govt employees and retirees. My question is, can it be used as a replacement for medical insurance and two, when I inquired at CGHS office in Pune, they told me that among other documents they would also need the "Last Pay Certificate". Now, my dad don't seem to recall if any such document was ever with him and if he has submitted it somewhere to obtain pension money or such. Does anyone here know if we can get the " Last Pay Certificate" again? If so what is the process ? and where should we start? He was employed in Mumbai and currently staying in Pune.
